Mentor Students

Alumni mentors help current students make the transition from the classroom to the workplace. Students are eager for your advice on preparing for careers in your field, résumé help and internship ideas. Many Stony Brook alums are registered as “mentors” and you can be too. Interested in helping shape the future of students following in your footsteps? Sign up here to become a mentor.

Speak Up for Stony Brook

New York State provides less than 18 percent of Stony Brook’s operating costs and that support continues to erode. Public research universities like Stony Brook are the economic engines of today and tomorrow, so we need your help to remind legislators that Stony Brook and our talented faculty and students deserve their support. Speak up for Stony Brook today.

Donate to The Stony Brook Fund for Excellence

Participation is key and every gift—no matter the amount—counts. When students call or you receive annual appeals for The Stony Brook Fund in the mail, it's your chance to help talented, but financially struggling students. Stony Brook University has the largest percentage of students whose families earn less than $30,000 a year in the entire SUNY system.

Your generosity allows the University to nurture academic achievement among our students and faculty, encourage excellence in research and public service, and excel with integrity in all our endeavors. Please make a gift today!

This is Our Moment thanks to You!
